Back by popular demand - a first ever in the history of the Peoria Bach Festival - Dr. John Orfe begins Trinity’s 2019-20 Concert Series with an encore presentation of Johann Sebastian Bach’s Goldberg Variations! Come hear this iconic masterpiece, a tour de force of invention, beauty, and virtuosity, expertly interpreted by this Carnegie Hall-featured, New York Times-acclaimed pianist and Illinois Wesleyan University’s newest Composition faculty.
Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols Wednesday, December 18, 7:00 p.m.
Celebrate Christmas with Trinity’s musical ensembles as they present the annual Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols. Pre-Service music will begin at 6:30 p.m. Join us as we lift our voices and sing the hymns and carols of the season and celebrate the birth of the Christ Child with joyful instrumental and choral music. The service features the Trinity Sanctuary and Youth Choirs, Brass and Chamber Ensembles, Bells of Joy, along with our Cantor, Peter Wykert on organ.
Candlelight Organ Concert Friday, February 7, 7:00 p.m.
Justin Matters, organ
Our Candlelight Concert in this year’s concert series features Justin Matters, organist and pipe organ expert. Justin and his brother Mark acquired the Schlicker Organ Company in September, 2002. Justin studied organ at Concordia College, St. Paul under Paul Manz and transferred to the University of Minnesota to complete a degree in organ performance under Heinrich Fleischer. River Valley Brass in Concert Sunday, April 26, 3:00 p.m.

River Valley Brass was founded in 1987 in Peoria, IL. In addition to recital and chamber concerts, they make frequent appearances as guest artists on area band concerts, weddings, rehearsal dinners, college commencements, churches and cathedrals around Central Illinois. The River Valley Brass plays a variety of music in almost any genre and style imaginable. Its current members, Bill Booher, Gary Tupper, Laurel Filzen Etzel, Carl Anderson, and Greg Etzel, have been playing together for two years and three of them have been together for the last 11 years!
